Message from the Principal
It is our honor to announce the graduation of the Brookings-Harbor High School Class of 2022 and all of their many accomplishments. They are a joyful, creative class who have worked incredibly hard over their last four years, most of which have involved new ways of doing things.
BHHS celebrated in a formal ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 11, at Elmer Bankus Field, 522 Fern Ave, Brookings. Michelle Carrillo was selected by the senior class to give this year’s keynote address.
I am pleased to recognize this year’s two Valedictorians, Faith Burton, and Megan Pearson, and Salutatorian Grace Norman.
In addition, many of our students will graduate with more than a high school diploma, having already earned valuable certifications or dual credits toward college degrees.
With pride, we wish all of our graduates well as they embark on new journeys to college and career. They have been accepted to trade and technical schools, colleges, and universities. Some have plans to join a military or civil service branch, while others will take religious missions. These are the future business and entrepreneurship leaders of our community. Many already have years of on-the-job work and volunteer experience as they graduate high school.
We’d also like to thank our families, teachers and staff, and community for supporting the Class of 2022.
Graduates, you are a testament to hard work, achievement, and finding your joy. We are humbled to have been a part of your journey. We are proud of you, Bruins.
DeAnne Varitek, BHHS Principal
