Please join me in congratulating our 2021 Valedictorians and Salutatorian. Valedictorians: - Allison Graves - Mercedes Rodne - Alexis Schofield - Adam Shew Salutatorian: - Aurora Harrington This honor represents not just four years of academic excellence in high school, but a lifetime of hard work and support from friends, family, mentors, community members, and staff alike. There is much to celebrate as we look towards the end of the year for our graduating seniors and even though things still may look a little different, celebrating their accomplishments will continue to be a shining beacon amongst these unprecedented times.

I would say the generic stuff, like don’t procrastinate and ask for help, but that’d be pretty hypocritical considering how many all-nighters I pulled to get to where I'm at. But, I’d probably just say if you are going to do anything — sports clubs or take higher classes — do it because you want to, don't do it because your parents, your friends, your teachers want to, because after high school when you look back at how you spent your time, you're the one that reflects, you're the one that's going to benefit or not benefit from it, so do it for yourself and not for anyone else. During my last four years in high school, I would say the experiences that I valued most were times that I spent doing extracurriculars, and going to dances, going to football games, so I definitely recommend going outside of your comfort zone to do those things because it really makes your bond with your friends that much tighter, and high school that much more enjoyable. I would say to relax, and to be involved in more school activities. I think the online schooling, really encouraged that mindset, actually, because a lot of extracurriculars are not available and the workload isn’t so stressed. I kind of wish that I had more of a normal high school experience. The thing that I'm most excited about is probably being able to build those new friendships and relationships while in college. Being able to have those experiences as a college athlete that I will cherish forever. I want to thank all the teachers that have taught me in the past, and considering that my mom is a teacher I really see firsthand just how stressful the job can be, so that definitely makes me appreciate the work they do a lot more.
