Academic Achievement Night Honorees 2025

On Thursday, May 15, 2025, Brookings-Harbor High School hosted its 8th Annual Academic Achievement Night, honoring students who have demonstrated excellence in academics, leadership, and citizenship. The evening began with a welcome by ASB President Lucas Vanderlip, followed by a program emceed by Principal Tristin Harkins and staff representatives from each academic department.

Families, staff, and peers gathered to celebrate as students were recognized on stage with certificates, a BHHS keychain, and heartfelt applause. Teachers presented awards for outstanding performance in core academic subjects, Career and Technical Education (CTE), fine and performing arts, world languages, physical education, and more.

Special awards highlighted students who exemplify Bruin PRIDE (Pride, Respect, Integrity, Dignity, and Excellence), as well as those who showed exceptional growth over the year. Dr. Kelly Whitley presented the “Most Improved Student” awards to Oscar Yanez-Hernandez and Dawson Senior. The prestigious Warren and Dolores Glaze Principal’s Award, accompanied by a $200 scholarship, was awarded to Toby Lamply for outstanding personal transformation throughout high school.

The evening also included recognition of Patrick Hatch and Ella Reneau as BHHS Male and Female Athletes of the Year and celebrated Alfonso Pelayo-Sandoval for recently achieving the Oregon State Seal of Biliteracy.

A standout moment came with the presentation of Allied Health Certifications to seven seniors, marking a significant milestone on their journey toward careers in healthcare. These students completed dual-credit courses through SWOCC, earning 17 college credits and a commemorative stethoscope.

Congratulations to this year’s honorees for their academic achievements and for personifying what it means to be a Bruin. Their dedication, talent, and growth inspire the entire school community.
