Belated "fall" athletic and activities seasons are getting underway this month with Azalea Middle School starting Feb. 8 and Brookings-Harbor High School starting Feb. 22.
You may notice football, cross county, volleyball, soccer, cheer, band, and color guard activities taking place around our high school and middle school campuses. This is an exciting time for our students, families, and coaches.
We need your help to keep a good thing going! Please steer clear of all practice areas. No public use of the BHHS track and field areas will be permitted between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays to facilitate practices, as well as outdoor PE and classroom activities.
We appreciate community walkers and joggers for your flexibility to pick an alternate walking/running route or time. Our track is open to the community before 8 a.m. and after 6 p.m. daily.
Many details remain to be worked out at the state and local level in terms of what competition might look like this season, with the future still uncertain for football and volleyball. These sports are considered higher risk, high-contact sports by Oregon Health Authority and OSAA. We are hoping for news and updates this week as to whether that will change or not. Coaches are running non-contact practices at this time.
Athletes wishing to participate in athletics and activities are required to fill out an online registration in FamilyID and provide proof of a current physical exam before beginning practices.
