Students Join in College and Scholarship Events

Brookings-Harbor High School hosted the Oregon Public University Tour in March 4, in the BHHS gymnasium. At the event, 100 juniors visited with representatives from the eight Oregon Public Universities to learn more about college options.

More updates from BHHS Guidance & Counseling Office:

  • The school day SAT was a phenomenal success. In total, 94 students (mostly juniors) participated. Our school provides this testing opportunity free of charge.
  • This year the Scholarship Night Awards Celebration will be 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, in the BHHS Cafeteria.
  • Incoming Freshmen Parent/Guardian/Student Information Night was 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 15, in the BHHS Auditorium, 629 Easy St, Brookings.
The night was a success with over 65 (class of 100) of our soon to be Freshmen in attendance. A huge night packed with information about diploma requirements, classes/programs, schedules, supports and interventions, mentoring (TRIO and ASPIRE), the introduction of teachers and staff, how to get involved with clubs, athletics, activities, and information about how to forecast for next years classes. Last year we introduced our Clubs Event, tables set up in the 400 and library hallways hosted by club members, teachers, and coaches. The incoming freshman and parent/guardians were able to peruse a variety of options for 9th graders to get involved. We all know the importance of getting our students hooked in right away, and this event was AMAZING! A huge thanks to all the staff, coaches, and student representatives that did a wonderful job sharing about their activity.
