Coquille High School hosted South Coast Skills Day on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. Students from the following south coast high schools competed: Bandon, Brookings-Harbor, Camas Valley, Coquille, Douglas, Gold Beach, Marshfield, Myrtle Point, North Bend, Pacific, Powers, Reedsport, and Winter Lakes high school.
Students competed in career technical education (CTE) skills such as welding, and metal fabrication; math skills such as pre-algebra and calculus; art skills such as chalk art and sculpture; drama skills such as improv and props; writing skills such as fiction writing and argumentative writing; and physical education activities.
Brookings-Harbor High School students placed in the following categories:
Calculus: 1st place (tie) - Abby Marks, BHHS
Flash Fiction Writing: 1st Place - Ashley Howell, BHHS
Chalk Art: 2nd place - Abigail Conduracki & Zach Cabrera, BHHS
Prop Closet: 2nd place - Madelyn Farnham, BHHS
Still Life Drawing: 3rd place - Natalie Garcia, BHHS
