Afternoon update: Bus Route B (Bus 67) will deliver students to "snow day" pick-up area

Posted: 12:55 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020

All afternoon bus routes will be as usual, except for Bus Route B (Bus 67) that will use the "snow day" drop-off point for those living in higher elevations along Gardner Ridge. The bus will turn around and drop-off students at the Upper Chetco Rural Fire Protection District building "volunteer fire department" located at the intersection of Gardner Ridge and Lewis Creek Road.

Weather conditions have improved throughout the day, but Transportation Director Allen Walz reports that there is not a good place to get the bus turned around at the top because of all the snow near the usual spot near Palmer Butte Road.

School is on; but Bus Route B (Gardner Ridge Road) has an updated pick-up location. Due to snowy/icy conditions at higher elevations in the Gardner Ridge area, morning bus pick-up will be at the “snow day” bus stop lower down the hill by the Upper Chetco Rural Fire Protection District building "volunteer fire department" located at the intersection of Gardner Ridge and Lewis Creek Road.
